BUSHCAMPS
Kuyenda
Kuyenda is a wonderful bush camp situated in a very remote area of the park on
the banks of the Manzi River. The accommodation consists of 4 thatched rondavels
made entirely of local material - reed, thatch and wood. These rondavels are taken
down and rebuilt every year. The chalets are rustic but very comfortable and offer
a really authentic bush experience - large spacious beds, with mosquito netting
and colourful covers, an abundance of storage space and all facilities en-suite
(shower, toilet and washbasin). The bathroom is open to the stars and you need
to order the hot water for the shower in advance thus epitomizing what a safari
is all about.
The main dining area, sitting room and bar are in a small open fronted thatched
structure in the center of the small camp, and this is the nucleus of all activities.
As Kuyenda, like all the camps, is inside the National Park itself, big game
action happens on your doorstep. It is a wonderful walking area and activities
are tailored to the clients' needs.
Game activities include walking safaris and combination walking and driving.
Chamilandu
Chamilandu offers comfort, class and beauty in one of the Luangwa Valley's prime
remote river locations. The décor of the 7 foot high tree house chalets is a tasteful
blend of wrought iron and brass.
Open to a 180° vista, the front of each tree house chalet provides the exciting
frame for all of Luangwa Valley's wildlife. The four poster double beds enjoy
a bird's eye view over the waters of the Luangwa River with the magnificent Nchindeni
Hills as the backdrop.
A series of seven ox-bow lagoons around Chamilandu yield diverse habitats and
attracts abundant wildlife. Specializing in guided walking safaris, The Bushcamp
Company prides itself on top class guides and offers guests the chance to explore
the area around camp on foot.
Catering for all safari tastes, the camp offers both morning and evening walks
and combinations of day and night game drives.
Game activities - walking safaris and limited driving
Chindeni
Chindeni has an altogether different character from the other bush camps. The
Camp nestles on the apex of a permanent ox bow lagoon, offset by the magnificent
Chendeni Hills.
Raised on wooden decking, Chindeni's 4 en-suite tents provide luxury facilities.
Each tent has its own private raised veranda, which make ideal platforms to view
the resident big game or to simply enjoy the serenity of the lagoon.
Each tent has 2 queen-sized beds, hot and cold running water, shower, toilet,
double vanities and tongue and groove polished wooden flooring.
Chindeni accommodates an optimum of 6 guests but can take 8 guests if all are
in one group.
Open dining/lounge and bar area is shaded by ebony's. From the bar there are
steps down to the lagoon side where guests can enjoy an open air dining experience
next to the still waters of the lagoon.
Bilimungwe
Bilimungwe is a cool and comfortable camp set beneath magnificent Mahogany trees
on the edge of a small plain.
The Camp consists of 4 reed and thatch chalets with en-suite shower, toilet and
double vanities.
The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar are constructed on raised decking
with views of Bilimungwe's permanent water hole and abundant game.
Bilimungwe Trails Camp is nestled in riverine forest along the picturesque banks
of the Luangwa River. The Camp consists of four reed and thatch chalets with en-suite
showers, toilet and double vanities
Each chalet has two queen sized double beds with large mosquito nets and an individual
rechargeable lighting system. The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar offer
panoramic views of Bilimungwe's water hole and the abundant resident game that
it attracts.
The thatched dining canopy provides a cool and comfortable environment in which
to enjoy this idyllic setting. The surrounding forest of evergreen shade trees
forms a majestic backdrop for those seeking the unique African experience.
Kapamba
Kapamba is the newest camp to join the Bushcamp Company's portfolio. Located
on the banks of the Kapamba River in the south of the park, the area is unspoiled
and remote, and offers magnificent walking.
Each chalet is spacious, stylish and designed with the utmost attention to detail.
Stone interiors and bold fabrics give the Camp a contemporary, tasteful look.
The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are completely open to the front; with individually
designed metallic gates ensuring guests are kept safe from the many creatures
of the night, while still being able to enjoy the unspoilt views of the river
and its many inhabitants.
The king-sized or twin beds are sunken into a stone base and overlook the river
- what better place to enjoy some private game viewing than from the comfort of
your own bed.
En-suite bathrooms are spacious and contemporary, dominated by a sunken double-sized
stone bath. The open-plan design ensures guests can stargaze and listen to the
sounds of the night while soaking in these magnificent and luxurious tubs. Double
brass shower heads are mounted over the bath.
The Camp also boasts a spacious bar area overlooking the Kapamba River.
